I found this rocking chair at a yard sale, I have a hard time believing that some one could sell a family heirloom. I' am so sentimental, and to think that they could sell grandma's rocking chair for $10.00 I just could not believe it. Ok I know it is just a chair to us, but to them it should have been the family history. Now don't get me wrong I love the chair, and I for one am glad they sold it to me. I do have fun story that goes with the chair, well 2 of them . My husband ask why I need a rocking chair when I have one from when my children was babies, he just does not get it . I brought the chair in and my grandson was here he said because pap, that's what he calls him, that is a little chair it's my size and I don't have a rocking chair. It is a small chair when I ask the grandson how tall his grandma was he replied 4' 6'' and she could swing a mean switch lol. this reminded me of my own grandma she was 4' 9'' and we did not give grandma no static. As I look back I still have no idea why we was always saying grandma will get us, because in reality she never even scold us that we can remember.
That is such a cool old chair, I love it, and I two am glad you have it .
